Late Blight Alert
Late Blight symptoms first appeared on a Henderson County Farm on Saturday, June 24th and was confirmed today by Extension Plant Pathologist, Inga Meadows. Growers are encouraged to start their Late Blight Management Sprays. See the NC Tomato Spray Guide for a list of effective fungicides as well as rates and rotation schedule. This pathogen is most active when we experience cool nights and warm days.
For more information on this destructive disease see the Late Blight on Tomato Disease Fact Sheet.
If you suspect late blight on your farm or have any questions concerning this disease and its management please contact your local county Cooperative Extension Agent.
